Wolfgang Essig (51), a Swiss Citizen National, has been a Member of the Executive Board at COLT Telecom plc., London until 2006. He also served as Chairman of the Management Board for COLT’s German operation as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Board for COLT AG Switzerland. Earlier stations in his carreer include assignments as Member of the Management Board and Managing Director for British Telecom, Level3 and Siemens. Wolfgang has spent significant time of his carreer in the Asian growth markets (CEO & President Siemens Ltd., Thailand; General Manager Siemens China) as well as in The Middle East and North America making him a leader with a recognized international and intercultural skill set. Wolfgang Essig has won various industry distinctions. In 2006 he has won the National Leadership Award donated by the Economic Forum Germany. Wolfgang also serves as a Board Member of BITKOM since 2005.
His most recent interest is to develop innovations and creating competitive products and solutions for key growth markets. Fidelio AG is a public company managing a portfolio of companies making them fit for the global market place.
